Can Neurofeedback Help Me?
"Technology-assisted brain optimization sessions - to decrease anxieties, ease depression, and improve focus and performance.”
Change your brain. Change your thoughts. Change your life.
Change your brain. Change your thoughts. Change your life.
Are you ready for powerful, positive change? With over 60 years of clinical application, neurofeedback is a leading-edge, research-proven, non-invasive technology that has been shown to produce significant improvement in the functioning of the brain, body and mind.
What exactly is neurofeedback?
Watch the video at the bottom of this page (scroll down) for an illustrated description of what neurofeedback is designed to do, created by the developers of the technology we use in our clinic.
Neurofeedback is a specialized form of bio-feedback, one that is focused specifically on the functioning of the brain and central nervous system.
With its foundation in neuroscience and data-based clinical practice, neurofeedback uses monitoring technology to read, capture, amplify and display the moment-by-moment changes in output of brain waves emitted by the brain. The information regarding the current state of the brain is fed back to the client in the form of auditory or visual stimuli, showing whether the brain activity is within the designated range of optimal function, or not. Based on this feedback, the technology guides the client towards changes in brain patterns that are associated with positive changes in physical, emotional and cognitive states. Often the trainee is not consciously aware of the mechanisms by which such changes are accomplished -- although people routinely acquire a "felt sense" of these positive changes and often are able to access these states outside the feedback session.
Neurofeedback is entirely non-invasive and involves neither surgery nor medication. In addition, no electrical signals are sent directly into the brain. Instead, the positive changes are the result of a joint effort between the client and the neurofeedback program, whereby the program gently guides the client to shape their brainwave states toward optimal patterns of activity. Neurofeedback is neither painful nor embarrassing. In fact, most clients find the experience engaging and interesting . When the program is carried out according to the technician’s instructions, negative side effects do not generally arise.
In a wide spectrum of cases, neurofeedback has been shown to lead to a profound lessening of anxiety, spontaneous states of insight, improved mental outlook, and a focused, clear, calm mind that classically could only be accessed through years of effort-full practice and cultivation through mindfulness training and hundreds of hours of meditation.
