PREGNANCY
"Dr. Adams' training in chiropractic care, as well as her own personal experience being pregnant, gave me complete confidence in continuing with chiropractic treatment during pregnancy. I saw Dr. Adams throughout my pregnancy for lower back pain, pain in my side which she diagnosed as intercostal muscle strain due to my expanding ribs and tight hip flexors. Regular chiropractic treatment made a significant difference to my comfort, even in the beginning. In fact, during the first trimester when I was quite nauseous, I felt noticeably better after seeing Dr. Adams. I also had a very quick post-labour recovery, which I attribute to a large extent to being well-aligned and relaxed going into it."

ITB and Pain & Achilles Tendon Strain
Dr. Shelley
I would be happy to help you with a testimonial regarding your amazing work.
I first learned about Trigenics and Dr. Shelley when she came to give a talk to my running group about common sports injuries that afflict distance runners. Being a relatively new distance runner, I had had little experience with running injuries and by the time Dr. Shelley came to speak to my running clinic I was in pain. I had no idea why I had the pain, what it was or what was causing it. I was very happy and relieved when she pinpointed exactly what my injury was and assured me that it was both common and treatable. I had ITB syndrome. After listening to her that day I decided to make an appointment and get some treatment. At first, I was quite skeptical after hearing many things (both good and bad) about chiropractors. I had also never heard of Trigenics and did not understand how it could help me - I went to see her anyway. I was desperate. My ability to train was severely impeded by my injuries. Dr. Shelley diagnosed and treated me immediately during my first visit. Although the treatment can be painful it REALLY WORKS!! She also provided me with a number of exercises to help me continue to recover and prevent this type of injury from occurring again. The treatments I received from Dr. Shelley allowed me to continue training virtually pain free. She also used Trigenics to help me with a strain in my Achilles tendon. The results were immediate and unbelievable. I am so grateful for her help. I would recommend chiropractic and Trigenics to anyone and everyone!
Hope you are well!

I am 59 years old and began running only last year. After two half marathons, I thought that I would train to run a full marathon. While increasing my training distance runs in preparation for my first marathon, I began to encounter knee pain. I was referred to Dr. Adams by my podiatrist. I scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Adams only 1 month before the Vancouver Marathon. Dr. Adams diagnosed the source of the knee pain as originating from a tight IT band as well as pelvic muscle dysfunction. In addition to her muscle manipulations and adjustments, she recommended a series of exercises, including the daily use of a foam roller. I spent the next month attending a series of appointments with Dr. Adams as well as religiously performing the prescribed exercises. I was also conscious of avoiding overuse injury and kept my running training to moderate distances during this time. Two weeks prior to the Vancouver Marathon, I ran the Sun Run pain free in under 54 minutes. I entered the Vancouver Marathon having run 33 kms as my previous longest run. Although Dr. Adams was confident about my performance, I wasn’t clear on how my body would react to covering the final 9.2 km. ‘frontier’ come marathon race day. To my greatest relief and pride, I was able to complete the Vancouver Marathon in 4 ½ hours with no ill after effects. On seeing Dr. Adams the day after the race, she indicated that I should be able to significantly improve this initial marathon performance in subsequent runs. I look forward to again proving her right.

Wrist Injuries
Dear Dr. Shelley,
I approached you last year with a problem in both of my wrists caused by golf. My left wrist had been bothering me for over a year while the right wrist injury was only a few months old. The pain was so bad that I was avoiding playing golf with the hopes that the problems would heal themselves. But as you saw, the left wrist problem was over a year old.
You eventually adjusted both wrists with a method I believe you called Trigenics joint manipulation. After a couple of treatments I saw significant improvement, & by the end of the treatments I was pain free & able to play golf.
What impressed me most, was that you sought out alternative treatments for the wrist on your own time, until you found the technique that worked. The enthusiasm you demonstrated in trying to find the right solution for my problem was greatly appreciated and will help to blossom your career.
All the best,

Shoulder Injuries
Dear Doctor Shelley Adams
I would like to thank you for helping me recover from my cycling accident in Jan 2009. This was a traumatic experience for me as I am athlete and a hairstylist so a broken collar bone doesn't really suit my lifestyle!
I was so happy with the Trigenics treatments that you gave me and how you modified the adjustments to accommodate my injury. After my surgery I noticed improvements in my range of motion instantly. Each treatment gave me a little more range, until I was back in the pool doing what I love.
I really new that you cared when you came to see me as a customer and when you heard that my next client was late and that I was looking at a long day, you gave me a treatment on the spot in my salon. This was so thoughtful and made my day at work a lot less painful.
I would recommend Dr. Shelley to anyone in pain or recovering from an accident. Dr. Shelley will broaden your view of what a chiropractor really does, and she will help you live pain free.
Thank you Dr. Shelley

Dear Dr. Adams,
As an occasional athlete and full time “desk jockey,” I have been experiencing tightness, pain and lack of full motion in my left arm and shoulder for the last several years. Dr. Adams suggested that Trigenics treatments – coupled with regular chiropractic care – would be beneficial.
After five or six visits over a period of as many weeks, I have regained 70-80% of my full motion, and pain and tightness have been largely eliminated. I intend to keep at it until I’m as good as new, which shouldn’t be long now. Shelley really knows her stuff, and I heartily recommend her!
